EPBR Kicked Off 2026 StrongLeadership, Education, and Member Engagement Highlights

The Eastern Panhandle Board of REALTORS® (EPBR) started the new year with momentum, setting the tone for what leadership described as a year focused on engagement, growth, and making a statement.

From a leadership retreat to professional development events and upcoming opportunities, January reflected a strong commitment to both member value and organizational direction.

Here was a breakdown of what REALTORS® experienced as the year began.

Leadership Retreat Set the Direction for the Year

EPBR leadership began the year with its annual leadership retreat, bringing together the board of directors along with committee chairs and vice chairs.

The retreat focused on:

  • Strategic planning for the year ahead

  • Strengthening communication among leadership

  • Identifying new ideas and opportunities for growth

A key component of the retreat included personality and communication training, which helped leaders better understand how to collaborate effectively and work through challenges as a team.

The inclusion of committee leadership ensured that planning extended beyond the board and into all areas of the organization.

Professional Development Week Delivered Immediate Value

The first week of January included multiple events designed to support REALTORS® in both business growth and professional development.

Professional Development Day

Members attended sessions that covered:

  • Public speaking and communication

  • Industry updates from the West Virginia Real Estate Commission

  • Recognized incoming leadership

  • Celebrated the work of outgoing leaders

  • Brought members together in a social setting

The event reinforced both continuity and forward momentum within EPBR.

Streamlining Processes for Better Member Experience

One of the operational updates discussed was the introduction of a new marketing request process.

The goal of the update was to:

  • Improve communication

  • Increase efficiency

  • Deliver marketing materials more quickly

While the process required some adjustment, leadership emphasized that the changes were designed to better serve members long-term.

Opportunities at the State and National Level

EPBR also highlighted several opportunities for members to engage beyond the local level.
